Week 6: Photos & Images

Week 6: Photos & Images
Checked out Flickr and found many fantastic images - the quality of images appears to be much higher than what can be found on Google Images.

Week 3: Wikis

Wikis are a great way to share information, and are easily edited and expanded. I have created a Redmond Barry Desk Wiki for:
Patents – Historic Australian, British & American Patents + brief notes on NZ, Canada, France, Italy and Belgium patents at SLV
This outlines the print collections of patents held by the State Library of Victoria; the published indexes; and the online resources available for searching historic and current patents.
I look for to adding additional information and some images to this Wiki in the future.

Week 5: Tagging, Folksonomies & Technorati

Week 5: Tagging, Folksonomies & Technorati has been interesting, and a little challenging.
I have an understanding of tags (tagging) and del.icio.us/; and the slv chat del.icio.us sites are useful when on the chat service. I can see me using LibraryThing in the future to catalogue all my gardening books and all my wife's cookbooks.

Week 4: RSS & Newsreaders

I have set up 4 x RSS feeds via Google reader, linked from the ANZ Reference Centre.

An excellent way to keep up to date with current information.
